The River to River Trail Plan is an effort to link the existing trail networks in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.

Please note: The proposed trail routes are just that - proposed. There will likely be several deviations from these proposed routes as we collect detailed information about specific areas. This is why your help is so crucial -- you know your community better than anyone. We need your knowledge on specific places which will help avoid major issues and maximize the potential of this trail.

You are also welcome to come give us your input in person!

There will be a series of four workshops which are open to the public. Each workshop will contain a number of interactive stations giving the opportunity for you to weigh in on how to connect Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids with one single, continuous trail route. Note that specific dates are subject to change. Stay tuned for details!

You can not only help shape where this trail is located, but you can also help make sure it gets built. Each year, federal funding is directed to state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations earmarked for non-motorized transportation and development of trails, but it's simply not enough to build all the trails planned across the state on a yearly basis. You can make a difference and help make this trail become a reality.
